My parents are moving from Virginia Beach to Chesapeake - they are downsizing to a condo. I'm so happy for them! I'm even more excited because they will only be 10 minutes away from me. (Right now, they are almost 40.) This past weekend, my brother and I went through some of our childhood things that have been hiding in the attic for years. I thought I'd share them with all of you!
Let's start with this photo (of a photo) from Olan Mills. I had not grown out of that 'alien baby' stage yet.
Gregg and Gloria, your hair. I can't.
An early childhood obsession of mine was Barbie. I ended up only keeping a few, as most of them were in pretty bad shape. This Barbie Ice Cream Shoppe was one of my favorite possessions. I wish it didn't have weird splotches all over it, I'd put it on eBay.
Of course, these are not Barbies. 10 points if you can name the New Kids seen here...
...I also had their sleeping bag, fan club buttons, cds, etc.
To prove that I've been in love with food since the beginning, here is a poem written by 4th grader Sterling.
Or this pop art hamburger.
Lastly, I leave you with a piece I am quite proud of.
Thanks for taking a short walk down memory lane with me! It's a sweet experience to go through your childhood belongings. If you haven't done it in a while, grab your sibling and do it. Take pictures! I'd love to see them!
