In true #flashbackfriday fashion, I'm sharing a wedding from July 2014 today! I know, I know, it's been SEVEN months (as of yesterday) since Regan and Lucas got married. Seeing two of my dearest friends get married and being able to help make it all happen was one of the best days ever! Enjoy some of my favorite moments from their big day! All photos by the ever lovely Daytona May Photography!
Regan and Lucas got married at Petra Farm in Scottsville, VA. It was a short distance from Charlottesville. The farm was owned by Lucas' aunt and uncle and it was the PERFECT venue!
Regan and her bridal party got ready in the main house. The girls spent the morning relaxing, which really helped set the tone for the entire day. Everything about their wedding was so calm, intentional, and the moments were treasured.
Lucas and his men got ready at a home down the road....they spent the morning boating, swimming, and goofing off. Ya know, typical groomsmen stuff!
I loved their first look. Regan's sister, Johanna, walked her across a beautiful pasture to where Lucas was waiting. I sneakily watched from the barn...and cried.
Regan purchased her dress from Silk Bridal Consignment. They offer previously owned gowns at great prices. I like to imagine this dress was created especially for her.
All of the florals were done by Regan's bff's mom. I mean...just gorgeous. Those bouquets matched Regan's cheery personality!
Prepping the farm was an act of love. Lucas' aunt and uncle, along with the Adams and Andersen families, spent many hours getting things ready. Pouring cement, hanging lights, cutting down tress, those were just a few things that had to be done.
Insert shameless plug here: My sweet husband performed his first marriage ceremony for our friends. I think that placed their wedding at an especially important place on my "list of best days ever." I was so proud of him.
Our set up crew had quite a task of battling a few powerful gusts of wind. I think we had to reset at least 5 or 6 tables before the reception even started because everything blew everywhere. I chased a few menus down a hill.
How precious are those mason jars? Guests got to keep them as party favors. Lucas converted plain ol' mason jar lids into straw-ready glasses. I love when the groom gets involved in the planning process!
The guestbook was a giant chalkboard wall. Guests were encouraged to share how they met the happy couple. They also put together a photo timeline. Having been together for about 7 years before they said "I do," Regan and Lucas basically grew up together. I enjoyed being able to look back to when they were 15 years old.
Their first dance was so special because their close friends, Lauren and Kyle, sang for them. It could not have been any cuter.
And how they danced! It's better when everyone participates. Amiright? FANTASTIC music and entertainment was provided by James Morrison (DJ TMMPO).
Regan and Lucas' wedding was a dream come true! Their love and joy was infectious! Thanks for taking a little trip down memory lane with me!
