Meet the Couple: Jennifer & Chad

There are some people you meet in life you never want to forget. Jennifer is one of those people. She came to me through falling in love with this stunning wedding and immediately, I felt like we have been friends for a long time. She is bubbly, sweet, and is an big time encourager. She and Chad's wedding at Williamsburg Winery is going to be meaningful, Christ-centered, and will celebrate the start of their new (and highly anticiapated!) life together!

They have quite the love story. Young love, a time apart, sweet reunion. I'll let them share in their own words...

How did the two of you meet?
Jennifer: Oh, the history we have! 7th grade is where it all began. He stared at me in Mr. Door’s civics class. I was intrigued by his humor and sincerity, even as a teenager.
Chad: I don’t remember the first time we met exactly. It was sometime during 7th grade. I fell pretty quick and hard. It took her quite a bit longer. I did everything I could to have some type of interaction with her during the day. I would like to think my hard work and persistence paid off.

What has been the best part about being engaged?
Jennifer: The comfort of knowing Chad will forever be by my side.
Chad: One of my favorite parts of being engaged has been when Jennifer and I dream about what our life is going to be like in the future or things we hope to accomplish as a couple.

What is your favorite quality about one another?
Jennifer: Chad is an undercover sweetheart, and I love that about him. I say undercover because he has never been the type of guy full of grand gestures or large expressions of love. However, he expresses his love for people in such a sweet way. He’s going to be such a good dad.
Chad:  My favorite quality about Jennifer is her heart. She has the most beautiful, loving and thoughtful heart of anyone that I have ever met.

What are you most excited for on your wedding day?
Jennifer: I am most excited for the ceremony! I cannot wait to see Chad’s sweet face as I walk down the aisle, with my parents on either side of me. I cannot wait to hear the beautiful music and to feel the love from everyone in the room. I look forward to sharing communion with Chad, my family, and friends. And, I cannot wait to say vows to Chad and become his forever person.
Chad:  I am really looking forward to the moment where we can look one another in the eye and say, “We did it!"

If you had to pick a word for your relationship, what would it be?
Jennifer: Optimism. When Chad and I tackle the world together, we have been able to see the good in humans, situations, and each other. We lean on each other for comfort, empathy, and support during moments of joy and sadness. Having one another as a constant cheerleader and partner, I know the future will be bright.
Chad: Team. I feel like Jennifer and I are meant for one another. I feel like we bring out the best in each other, we push one another and we have a great time through it all.

Three dreams/goals for your marriage?
Jennifer:

1.     To cherish our time together and focus on the positives in life and one another.

2.     To grow together, while embracing the other’s individual journey.

3.     To embark on an adventure together that serves others. I’m not sure what this will look like – potentially medical missions, volunteering together, or even opening a non-profit one day.

Chad:

I want to continue to fall in love with her a little more each day. I want to be her very best friend for the rest of her life. I want Jennifer and I to make a positive impact on the people and world around us.

I love this one from waaaay back!

Meet the Couple: Jamie & Bert

Jamie and Bert are getting married this Saturday at Norfolk Botanical Garden. It is going to be so hot, but I know it will still be the most beautiful day! They have an amazing vendor team!!!

IMG_1773.JPG

Jamie found me through the NBG Preferred Vendors list. She contacted me about TWO months ago! This is probably my fastest turnaround for a wedding yet, but I've so enjoyed getting to know her. During our consultation, she told me her fiance's name and I paused. I thought to myself, "Bert isn't a very common name" and low and behold, he was, in fact, the very same Bert, older brother to one of my childhood best friends! Small world! So, not only will I get to see these to pledge their life and love to one another, but I get to reunite with a wonderful family who meant so much to me in my youth.

Cassi & Mike | Big Spring Farm | Wedding Day Recap

I am having a difficult time finding words for this past weekend. It was a dream. Cassi contacted me just a few months ago. She had been on the fence about hiring a wedding coordinator and decided it was something she needed. I am SO glad she gave me the chance to be that person for her. Between Mike's humor and her infectious  laughs, I felt so happy being around them. Their love and energy is contagious! They met attending college at West Virginia, and boy, did their wedding party and guests have some WVA pride!! Everyone traveled from afar, so this was my first true destination wedding. I won't forget the adorable accents anytime soon! ;)

I have to thank the amazing team of vendors for bringing their A games. I'll be sure to share all of them when the professional pictures come in from Megan of Wild and Wonderful Photography!

And finally, to my wonderful friend, Johanna. Thank you for coming all the way to Lexington to assist me. You were a lifesaver!

And now, please enjoy some iPhone snaps from yours truly.

Cassi and Mike did a hand plaster mold as their unity ceremony. Probably the coolest ceremony idea of all time! Instead of doing a First Look, they wore blindfolds and did the first step in the process. Then, during the ceremony, they mixed the plaster and poured it into the cast. It was adorable!

Cassi wanted pictures in this specific spot and she was going to get them. She hiked up her dress, climbed over the wire line, and balanced herself on that rock. The pictures from Megan O'dell are going to knock your socks off!

Another favorite moment! Cassi and Mike branded a W into a tree cutting. I LOVED this! Maybe I can convince them to turn it upside down and make me a M for my house. Haha!

Casey & Christos | New Kent Winery | Wedding Day Recap

As I drove up to New Kent on Friday afternoon, I had extremely limited visibility on the interstate. I thought over and over again, "Please not tomorrow. Please not tomorrow!" I was so worried the weather would let us down. As I pulled off the interstate for the rehearsal, the clouds parted and the sun peeked down at us. It was a good sign.

Saturday was even more beautiful. Throw in thoughtfully planned details and we had a priceless day! Casey and Chris did an outstanding job choosing their vendors. Don't worry, they did have a real photographer there. These are just the ones I snapped with my iPhone. :)

Picture it: those gorgeous doors opening to reveal Casey, in all her bridal glory. Chris sobbed, which made me cry. Casey cried, which made me cry even more. Good thing for waterproof eye makeup!

Darling D's also provided this adorable cake setup to hold the variety of mini bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes. So precious!

This is their real cake, but the big surprise of the day was their April Fool's joke! They wanted to do something that wouldn't give anyone a heart attack...so they came up with the idea to drop their cake before cutting it. Don't worry, they used a fake cake. The crowd went wild! I did take a video, but the quality is so poor. (hey videographers, NEVER hire me!! mmmkayyy!)

The sweetest, most caring pair! I loved working with the two of you. I look forward to keeping up with your bright future!

Flowers by Morrison's of Williamsburg were, as usual, STUNNING! Arlene used succulents and I melted when I saw them. Perfect, perfect!!!
